Mise en scene• The mise en scene used in the article titled ‘My Dinosaur Life’ was the

favourite because it was unique and very rarely seen although it was thought to be slightly juvenile and childish especially when I am aiming my magazine at teenagers of around 16.

• They also liked the mise en scene used for the article about ‘The Vaccines’ because it is simplistic and a typical photo shoot shot as they are positioned so that they can all be seen, direct mode of address is used and the colours that they are wearing match and show they are a unit. This is done because photo shoots are done specifically for the magazine and therefore gives the reader a sense of exclusivity. They liked this because it wasn’t too distracting away from the actual article.

• The ‘Antichrist’ image was called ‘creepy’ and was not very liked but was said to be a good style if I am going for serious and gothic rock subgenre.

Layout• A white background was preferred compared to black background for ease of reading.• The use of the drop cap was said to be effective and unique so would help establish my brand identity.• They like the sizing and number of images used but they do not like it when the background is the image

and it looks to intimidating and overpowering.

Typography• The large typography that took up a large proportion of the page was preferred over

the smaller masthead.

Language• The title of the article was discussed and it was found that the group liked a different

but straight to the point title. For example, they were not keen on ‘The Vaccines’ because it was expected and boring but they did like the title ‘My Dinosaur Life’ because it is unique and intriguing as it seems random so you become curious as to what the article is about but it is still short and straight to the point.
