NARRATIVE STRUCTURE

• Single stranded as it is only about Domino’s Pizza.

• Open as the company is still ongoing.

• Linear as events happen in a chronological order.

CAMERAWORK

Establishing shots are used to introduce locations such as stores.

Interviews are eye level with the interviewee looking off screen, however they are not positioned to one side.

Lots of hand held camerawork is used when they are making pizzas to reinforce the frantic atmosphere.Observational footage is

used of people in stores, in meetings or at rallies. Often people will acknowledge the camera, which challenges conventions.

MISE EN SCENE

There are lots of shots of pizza, Domino’s uniforms, cars and stores.

In interviews, store employees wear the Domino’s uniform whereas people in higher positions wear suits.

SOUND

• Voice of God narration is used, which is a male speaking in Standard English. He introduces people and topics, and links sections together.

• Non-diegetic upbeat, instrumental music is used.

• Diegetic sound from interviews and observational footage adds realism.

EDITING

• There is a fast paced opening montage at the beginning that introduces the documentary and is relevant to the topic.

• Interview questions are edited out and the jump cuts covered up.

ARCHIVE MATERIAL

No archive material is used as the documentary focuses on the present, and Domino’s is a fairly recent company.

GRAPHICS
