YES, of course! Just think…• You, as an instructor, have the ability to present your students

with content and level appropriate materials rather than a “canned” product/text created by others who may not have a sense of what you and your students want and need.

• You can save your students quite a bit of money. Money that might make a difference in ways you can’t even imagine!

• By using Open Educational Resources (OER), you are inculcating the idea of collaboration and sharing. Aren’t these goals, in and of themselves, a very important part of education?

But, wait a minute… It’s not so easy!• It takes a lot of time to find OER materials that I am

comfortable using in my class. Yes, it does.• It is quite difficult to find OER materials that really address the

subject I want to cover. Yes, it is.• My students are used to using conventional textbooks in class.

They may not take the class as seriously if they don’t have a traditional text in class. Perhaps, but it is 2015!
