What’s next?

Exercise 1: Point of Contact

Take the next 5 minutes to think of the “pillars of your community.” How can they help you begin to create your digital

collection? Can they be a point of contact for you? Who are your partners / key players to help you create a successful collection. I believe it will always be a collaborative effort!

Jot down the names of the top 5 people who come to mind.

Share the names and why you think these people would be helpful in your group. Ask your group for feedback!

Exercise 2: Marketing

It’s helpful to think ahead of time of how you are going to continue marketing this collection once it’s online. Think about and jot down the following “points to consider”:

Who is the target audience? What are you hoping to accomplish with your collection?/What

is the purpose for your digital project? How do you plan to educate your users? (i.e. help them

understand and use the collection when it is finished) Ask yourself the question, “Where would people go first to look

for this type of digital collection/information?” as a place to begin marketing efforts.

Discuss!
