Schoolboy Q – Oxymoron well known rapper- Front of album Cover

■ Schoolboy Q is an American hip hop recording artist. He has 3 studio albums. This is his latest album Oxymoron.

■ Where he is a well known musician the name of his album is bigger than his name. As his name is well known he is advertising his album rather than himself.

■ The background on this is simple although this makes the white mask and hat stand out. He is in the centre of the frame at which still advertises himself as he is the most important person. This is something on our front album cover that we are likely to have C.DOT centre of the frame.

■ The left hand side effect on the album cover I personally really like as it gives the overall front cover more personality. I think that it would look good on the right hand side of the front cover aswell.

black background is resembled from the front cover.

■ However unlike the front cover it does not show schoolboy Q as the centre of attention but the women on the throne. This could be linked to some of the songs in the album at which we can only speculate. In our back cover we are likely to have lots of images of Connor himself in different outfits as we are advertising Connor as this is his first album.

■ On our Back cover we will need to add our websites and social media accounts, a barcode and our record label companies. This is something which is shown in Schoolboy Q’s back cover to the right.

■ There is a copyright sentence in the left hand side which we also likely to have on our album

■ Kris Kasanova is an American rapper who has 3 mixtapes with this album being his first release as a new rapper.

■ As this is his first album his name has a larger font size than the album title and therefore this shows he is trying to advertise his name. This is something we are going to do in our front album cover to introduce C.DOT.

■ He is at the centre of the frame something we are looking to do however I feel as though the background of this cover does not look like a hip hop genre. I feel as though he looks more of a Pop singer due to the lighter colours in the background.

■ He is the main focus on the back of the album cover as he covers half of the image. We also are likely to have Connor on the back of the album as he is the centre of attention.

■ Kris Kasanova has his record labels shown and the copyright lines on the back of the cover. However unlike Schoolboy Q he does not have a barcode. Kris also have his websites in the bottom right hand corner which is advertising himself.

■ I personally dislike the back cover for this as again I don’t feel as though this suits the genre. It is similar to the front cover and follows the same theme which I think is crucial that the front and back cover link well together. Although overall I feel as though this does not fit the genre well.

his music name, is an English rapper from Dagenham, London, England. This album is his first.

■ Similar to both front album covers shown above there is an image of the main artist with the title of there album and there name. Devlin on the right as this is his first album his name has a larger font size than the album name. C.DOT will have a larger font than the album title.

■ This front cover promotes Devlin as an artist very well and the style of his music links with the front cover.

■ This is Devlin’s back of album cover and it has all of his songs on the back. We will need to think of name of songs for our album cover. Unlike the front album cover there is no image of Devlin himself but instead a young boy running.

■ At the bottom of the cover he has his record labels and his website. He also has some text at copyright to the songs on the CD itself.

■ I personally dislike the back of this album cover as it does not really advertise devlin as an artist and for his first album it is quite strange to have an image of someone else.
