Get your school's SMART Notebook licence code. You can find it by opening Notebook Software>Help Menu>Check for updates and activation. You will see a 16 digit code. Write it down. 2. Go to http://smarttech.com/Home+Page/ Support/Browse+Support/Download +Software 3. Under Software downloads, choose SMART Notebook Collaborative learning software. Click on Choose a version. Choose the version for your home computer Windows or Mac. 4. Click on Download. 5. Once the download has finished, locate it and open it to run the installer. 6. You'll be prompted to enter your licence code. Screenshot Click and type in the boxes. Choose number of images Drag images from the gallery over to the image boxes. When the box goes "yellow" it's ready to "accept" the image. The image is automatically resized and "sucked" into the box. Step 5: Click on OK and you can use the activity with students. 18. 18 Gallery Walk What did you create? 19. 19 EmbeddingVideo Flash Video Files (.FLV) can be inserted directly onto Notebook pages. Videos are a great way to present information. Additionally, students can watch (play/pause/ replay) at their own pace on laptops/computer lab and respond directly in Notebook Software. Click to play the video Content & Delivery 20. 20 EmbeddingVideo Content & Delivery Use the builtin web browser in Notebook 11 Here are 2 ways to embed video into Notebook: Download the YouTube video as a .flv and insert into Notebook 10 or 11 The video plays from youtube. Buffering may be an issue. The video is stored in your Notebook file. You can also copy and paste the video URL to make a link to it. 21. 21 Insert>Internet Browser (New in Version 11) "Pin" to the page so that when you open the browser it's on that page. Once you have copied the URL, go to www.keepvid.com 4. Paste the URL in here (Right click>Paste) 5. Click on download Do NOT click on thesethey are advertisements 6. You will get a popup message. Click allow. Advertisements 7. A list of videos will appear. The video type that will play directly in Notebook is an FLV. Insert your video into Notebook: Insert>Flash Video File 10. Locate your video (in downloads folder) and select OK. 11. Your video will be inserted on your Notebook Page. To access page recording open the Properties Tab. 2. Select the record button. Complete your actions on the screen. 3. Stop recording. 4. A playback bar appears on your screen. 5. You can now rewind and playback the screen recording. 6. Tip: Click on the icon beside the URL and then drag onto a Notebook page. Select the object to which you want to record a sound. Select Sound from the dropdown menu. 2. Select Start Recording. 3. Record your voice. Stop Recording when finished. 4. Choose Object. 5. You can copy & paste them onto your desktop. Part 2: Attaching the sound file to an object in Notebook: 2. Select the object to which you want to attach the sound.
