INTRODUCTION Guidance & counseling are twin concepts &

have emerged as essential elements of every educational activity.

Guidance & counseling are not synonymous terms counseling is a part of guidance.

Guidance in educational context means to indicate, point out, show the way, lead out & direct.

Counseling is a specialized service of Guidance. It is the process of helping individuals learn more about, themselves &their present & possible future situation to make a substantial contribution to the society.

Guidance is the process of helping every individual, through his own efforts, to discover and develop his potentialities for his personal happiness and social usefulness.

Guidance is assistance made available by personally qualified and adequately trained men or women to an individual of any age to help him manage his own life activities, develop his own points of view, make his own decisions and carry his own burdens.

Guidance is pre-problem, there is no specific problem that is identified in an individual.

Guidance program is a system of services designed to improve the adjustment of each and every person for whom it was organized.

Guidance is the act of making decisions for another person to help them get somewhere or help them to have a better future by showing them how to do it themselves.

Counseling is an interactive process conjoining the counselee who need assistance and the counselor who trained and educated to give this assistance.

Counseling is post-problem, meaning a problem has already been identified and therefore the counselor helps to address the problem but not to solve it. 

Counseling is the act of steering another's thoughts till they come up with the correct answer or behavior themselves. Neither is foolproof

Counseling requires special set up a room (clinic) to conduct.

Guidance is an integral part of education & assists it in fulfilling its aims.

Counseling is needed in all the fields .

CONCLUSION The guidance is just helping

someone along, but still letting that person do a big portion of the work, while counseling is more of an intervention and helps the person pretty much all the way through the work because they could not do it themselves, or would have failed doing it without an intervention to help the person.
