EXTERNAL BREAST PROTHESIS: with

inexpensives materials: Support breast Cancer patients

Context Some women breast cancer survivors who have undergone

a mastectomy and have lost a breast, haven’t the capacity to

pay a silicone prosthesis or mammoplasty.

“Veronica Restrepo Muvdi Foundation” and the club of

mastectomies from the “Liga de lucha contra el cancer”in

Barranquilla, gather to teach and make their own breast

prostheses with affordable materials.

Project

Teach women who have just lost a breast after a

mastectomy, and can not pay a silicone prosthesis, to

make his own prosthesis with inexpensive materials such

as birdseed and pieces of clothes, with the pattern of a

bra and the breast shade.

Including all women who suffer or not breast cancer

Design role -Promote women to make their own breast and teach others to do so.

-Ensuring women how can economic materials, care for the area of her breasts and feel comfortable

with the prosthesis and them self.

-Find them a easy way to make the construction of the prosthesis, so that it can be developed as a

product DIY (Do it yourself). To make faster your own breast.
