DESERT CACTUS
What is a Cactus?They are plants
that live in dry regions.
Roots -Long: lie close to the surface of the ground so they can catch water from desert
rains .-Cork-like
bark: to absorb the water quickly.
Stem-No leaves: instead the stem does
the job of making food for the plant and storing its water .
-Grow upward: so not too much of the plant faces the rays of the sun.
Needles-Sharp and pointed: to keep
desert animals from sucking out the water .
