Delicious: Social Bookmarking

Delicious is a social bookmarking web service for storing, sharing and discovering web bookmarks. When we work from our own desktop or laptop computers, no doubt we have bookmarked our most-used or websites. But there’s a problem… The only time those bookmarks can be accessed is if you’re on that computer. In using Delicious, you can access your bookmarks ANYWHERE!

Step 1: Creating an Account

Step 2: Register for a Yahoo ID (Delicious is a Yahoo company)

Click on “Join Now”

Click on“Sign Up” and follow

Step 3: Choose a link to your Delicious account.

Step 4:

Choose from the list created for you or create

your own.

Choose one

Step 5: Getting Started …

Step 6: Save a new bookmark…

Click and follow the screen prompts.

Type in the URL and click on “Next”

Note: Tagging is what makes Delicious social. By tagging your bookmarks, you can connect with others who have used the same tags and in turn, you discover other websites that you may want to include in your list of bookmarks.

Provide an annotation for the bookmark.

If this were an article for students to read as a part of their course work, you could include questions they must answer or any follow-up activity.

Tags are key words that would be associated with the content and/or purpose of the site. Don’t forget to save

your bookmark!
