All participants involved in the CASA project can participate in the courses and get a certificate


At the moment, all training is at BASIC level (general principles)In the future, advanced courses may be developed on specific topics,according to your interests and local requirements

TEACHING MATERIAL

to provide clinical information aimed to help health workers such us nurses and health officers in their clinical activities. Some central topics such as HIV infection and related co-infection/comorbidity, when to start, what to use, how to monitor, how to use antiretroviral therapy, the new WHO guidelines, etc… will be faced.

Statistics in Medicine

Beneficiaries Main goals

to provide basic knowledge to understand how statistic methods can be used in medicine and improve epidemiological competences The acquisition of basic elements will facilitate reading and comprehension of scientific articles, and will introduce some of core skills required to carry out research successfully.

to acquire basic scientific writing skills, communicate research results in meetings and workshops, improve communication with patients, search and use online scientific literature”

WHAT TO DO IN PRACTICE

Step 1. Be enrolled in the course fill in the application form

Step 2. Attend the lessons in the appropriate subject areas

Step 3. Do the test questionnaire (to be administered in paper format)

Step 4. Attend the plenary meeting of course participants

Step 5. Receive CASA certificate of accomplishment

FOCUS ON TRANSLATION

It is also necessary to be able to translate concepts in such a way as to be easily understood by the target persons

For example Physicians, health officers, nurses or CBOs will best approach patients using their own language Pilot course and local reports will provide useful hints

Translation is a complex concept associated withlanguage, level of education, local cultures and traditions

All project material is available in English and some documents will be available also in Amaric thanks to the THB

A one-day Pilot Course (including lessons and tests) will start soon based on the lessons already available in all the three multimedia training areas .

The pilot course will permit to test the effectiveness of:

•Teaching materials

•Teaching methods

•Facilities at local level

•Overall organization

•Language difficulties

PILOT COURSE


Understand the aim of overwhole project and training

Activily participate in the training activities

Establish positive collaboration among all beneficiaries

Develop motivation and trust in and between the networks

Monitor results achieved (questionnaire or other means)

Report results and process data from course questionnaires

Adjust the strategy when necessary (ex. Pilot course)
