Fact FileDavid Fincher was born in 1962 in Colorado, and was raised in California.
At age 18, he worked for ‘Korty Films’ in Mill Valley as a production assistant, and later worked at ‘Industrial Light and Magic (ILM)’ as an assistant cameraman.
Fincher left ILM to direct TV advertisements and music videos, and later to direct feature-length films including ‘Se7en’ and ‘Fight Club’.
Music VideosFincher has directed music video’s for a variety of music icons, including:
Madonna (Vogue, Express Yourself, Oh Father)
Michael Jackson (Who Is It)
Jermaine Stewart (We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off)
TrademarksFisher uses a lot of black and white imagery in the videos directed by him which gives a vintage feel to the video.
He also gets a lot of close up shots of the artists in their videos to create star image for their persona.
