ABOUT CHES TEACHERS 37 Teachers

35 Females, 2 Males 100% Certified in the field in which they are

CHES DEMOGRAPHICS Enrollment is decreasing Student demographics by race has stayed

steady over the 3 years Even though there were 4 different races in

our population, there wasn’t enough test data to collect by race/ethnicity

Therefore, the data overview will focus on the lowest performing subject in the lowest performing grade level

CHES CRCT RESULTS In ELA, our proficiency percentage of students

has steadily decreased over the 3 years. We are performing better in ELA than we are in

Mathematics. Our Mathematics proficiency percentage of

students had increased from 2011 (65%) to 2012 (71%).

In 2013, our proficiency level in Mathematics decreased by 15 percentage points.

CHES CRCT – MATHEMATICS RESULTS In 2012, CHES’s proficiency rate in

Mathematics was above the district’s with 71% to 64%.

From 2012 to 2013, the proficiency rate in Mathematics decreased 15 percentage points from 71% to 56%

In all three years, CHES proficiency rate was close to the districts level.

CHES CRCT – MATHEMATICS RESULTS Mathematics is our lowest performing

subject. Over the three year period, 4th grade has the

lowest performance. From 2012-2013 there was a 15-point

percentage decrease in 3rd grade Mathematics.

From 2012-2013 5th grade had a 9-point percentage increase in Mathematics.

CHES CRCT - MATHEMATICS RESULTS In 2013, there were slightly more female

students in the 4th grade than male. For all 3 years, the female students are

performing better than the male students in 4th grade mathematics.

In 2013, there was an achievement gap of 15 percentage points between male and female proficiency level in 4th grade mathematics.

STRENGTHS CHES is stronger in

ELA There was an increase

in mathematics from year 2011 to 2012.

WEAKNESSES Mathematics is our

weakest content area. There was a decrease

in percentage points in mathematics from 2012 to 2013.

Enrollment is decreasing

Diversity is limited within the student population

Page 17: Data overview

AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT The content area that is in need of

improvement is mathematics. The student centered problem is in the

content area of mathematics in the 4th grade. Our next step is to do an item data analysis

on our 4th grade male students in mathematics.

Page 18: Data overview

TASK

Please list three suggestions that we, as teachers, can do

to address our student centered problem.
