Work Experience Instructional Leadership Coordinator – Madares Al Ghad Project, http://www.moe.gov.ae/

Ministry of Education, the United Arab Emirates, August 2008 - Present After a restructuring of the administration of the Madares AL Ghad program I was given a new title which included the same responsibilities of the previous role, as Team Leader, as well as more school level administrative duties which were previously the responsibilities of the Principal Advisor position, which was eliminated under the new MAG administrative restructuring. New responsibilities include strategic planning, promoting school, parent, community relations, school accreditation, student extracurricular and co-curricular programs and remedial and elite student programs.

Ministry of Education, the United Arab Emirates, October 2007- July 2008 I was responsible for implementing a new educational reform pilot project for the Ministry of Education in the English Department of a boys’ secondary school in Sharjah, UAE. Duties included teacher training, teacher mentoring, teacher evaluation, professional development as well as implementing the English curriculum and assessment.

We used Cutting Edge, Reward, New Headway and New Interchange series of ESL textbooks.

Visiting Professor - Chonnam National University, Gwangju, Republic of South Korea.

January 2004 – June 2004, http://language.chonnam.ac.kr/ Responsibilities included teaching Introductory English for the mandatory freshman Global English program using the New Interchange curriculum. I also taught Business English for the graduate level Masters of Business Administration program which was a mandatory requirement to satisfy their graduation requirements. I was part of a team which wrote the curriculum for an upper intermediate level debating class using CNN for current events.

Head English Teacher - YBM ECC English Academy – Pohang, Republic of South Korea.

Nov. 2002 – Nov 2003. Responsibilities included teaching 30 hours, 6 days a week to children ranging from 5 years old to 18 years old. Classes included all levels and sizes including teaching free speaking classes and one on one classes. I also taught TOEIC and TOEFL preparation classes. As head teacher I was in charge or reviewing lesson plans and creating additional classroom materials. Although ECC provided proprietary teaching material I introduced New Headway, New Parade and New Interchange as supplementary resources.
