2.Teaching Holiday traditions to 4th�graders. There are 20 students 11 girls, and 9 boys. There are 2

Muslims, 3 Jewish and 2 African Americans.

Analyze Learners:

The students this lesson is for, are in the 4th grade. There are a total of 20 students in the class, with 11 being girls and 9 boys. 2 of the students are Muslim, 3 are Jewish, and 2 are African Americans.

State Objectives:

The students will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of a variety of holiday traditions from different parts of the world, through class presentations, songs, group projects with 90% competency.

Utilize Media, Material, and Methods:

1- The computer will be used by the class to access digital media and the teachers computer will be connected to the projector in order to present digital media to the class.2- The projector will be used to present the digital media to the class and can be used by students to make their presentations.3- The dry-erase board will be used to explain concepts to class requiring a visual component.4- The dry-erase markers will be used to mark on the dry-erase board.5- The pencils will be used by the students in order to take notes and write the rough drafts of their presentation.6- The paper will be used by the students to write on.7- The colored pencils will be used by the students in their group project.8- The website Youtube will be used to play music videos and videos of different cultures holiday

Require Learner Participation:

Introduction to the lesson:Students will take notes on the basics on a variety of holiday traditions from around the world so that the students have the basics in order to build on in their group projects later in the lesson.

Group research and project:1. Students will be split into 5 groups of 4, with an attempt to make each group as diverse

as possible.2. Each group of students will be given a random holiday and culture to research at their

computer station. Students will be encouraged to listen to relevant holiday music and to watch videos of typical holiday celebrations.

3. The students will take notes as a group as they research the holiday traditions and the cultures that celebrate them.

4. The groups will draw a group portfolio of significant parts of their assigned holiday.5. Each group will prepare a PowerPoint presentation to give to the class on what their

group has learned about their holiday and its traditions.
