Starting Shot

The first shot I want to use in my video is of a close up of a wooden gate, in a field. I want to use this as my first shot as I can then set the scene. I want it come in to focus quite slowly, as the start of my chosen song has a slow pace at the beginning and I feel that it would fit in nicely.

Finishing shot

For my finishing shot I am planning on creating a long shot, this will be of the main character walking off in to the distance in time with the melody.

Location

My chosen location is to film my music video in a rural area. I would like to film some scenes in a calm, quite area as well as a busy loud city location. This can then emphasis the differences and highlight the purpose of the song, and how homesick the character is.

Location

To portray the location to the audience I am planning to use a series of establishing shots, this to suggest the feel I am trying to show. My plan is to create a indie feel, this being the reason why I am including so many rural out door shots . I will also include a series of close up and mid shots of various objects such as sticks, or the grass blowing in the wind, enhancing a calming, peaceful vibe to my music video.

Casting

I have not yet planned who I am going to use in my music video. Although I have a few people who may play the role.

For the male role the people who may be casted are Mathew Tyler and Sam Marlow. The reason I have chosen these to appear in my music video is because they have a similar fashion sense and appearance which I was hoping to use within my video. By casting people who already have a similar fashion sense and look I feel they will feel more comfortable in what they wear and it will also benefit me as it will be cheaper as they can then wear their own clothes.

Male Role

When capturing the male role I want a serious of camera shots which are used. These being a mixture of long shots, mid shots and close ups. My plan is for the male to be walking down a field, here I will show a close up shot to show the facial expressions of my character, signaling to the audience that he is peaceful and happy being where he is in the country side, him feeling at home. I will also be using a long shot and the camera movement of panning to show him walking happily thinking.

Male Role

I will also shoot some footage of my male role in a busy city, by using close up shots to show him feeling uncomfortable and out of place and mid and long shots to show that he feels lost in a busy place, feeling lonely. I will also use a panning movement to show the business and the claustrophobic feel of the male role, as he is out of his comfort zone.
