National English Honor Society!

• National English Honor Society will be watching One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest on Tuesday, April 28, at 2:30 in room C-223.

• Members are reminded that all points are due by the May 12 meeting.

• Seniors must have 30 points in order to wear NEHS cords at graduation; juniors and sophomores need 20 point in order to remain a member for next year.

College & Career!Dual Credit Classes…

• Students who plan to take dual credit classes next year should have their registration forms and money turned in to LoneStar by Friday, May 1st.

• Please see Mrs. Hantz in the CCC (B-202) if you need paperwork or have questions.

• Herff Jones will be in the cafeteria again TODAY, April 23rd during all lunches.

• If you ordered Graduation Invitations from Herff Jones, please make sure to stop by their tables during your lunch.

The ORHS Color Guard!

• Is looking for new members for the 2009 Field Season.

• The guard dances, twirls and performs with the band at all football games and competitions.

• No experience needed!• There will be workshop/clinics on May 4th and 6th

from 7pm to 9pm.• The Mandatory Audition is on Thursday, May 7th

from 7pm to 9pm.• More information is available at the front office or

see Tom Harrington in room F-106.

• Are you interested in volunteering at Conroe Regional Medical Center this summer?

• Great for college applications!! • The Junior Volunteer Program is accepting

applications until April 30th. • Come to the College & Career Center for

more information.

2nd Annual ORHS Recycle Challenge!

• With the arrival of new phonebooks something has to be done with the old ones. So…It is time for the 2nd Annual ORHS Recycle Challenge.

• All 1st period classes are invited to participate.• Collect all the paper, magazines, phonebooks, etc

that you can find.• Bring it to your first period teacher and stack it

up!• When we come to collect we will measure the

stack(s).• Tallest stack(s) win a pizza party.

ORHS Auditorium.• Bring copies of your Scholarship Letters and

Military Appointments to the College & Career Center by May 1st!

Prom Ticket Sales – End of April!

• Prom Tickets on Sales - All Lunches• April 27 - $40• April 28 - $50• April 29 - May 1 - $60• At the door - $100• Everyone MUST have a prom ticket to enter.• All fines and fees MUST be paid before

purchasing or picking up a prom ticket.

Seniors!

• Please make sure to take care of any fines, fees, or any senior expenditures that you may owe before we begin to sell Prom tickets.

• You may check with Mrs. McKenzie in the front office for fines and fees.

• For senior expenditures please check with Mrs. McGinty (your senior sponsor) in room (C-102).

Special Occasion Dress Code!

• As we approach the special occasions this spring, remember that you must be in compliance with established dress code of conduct for all school-sponsored events.

• Appropriate dress for special occasions such as, Senior Awards, National Honor Society Induction, Sports Awards programs, etc. is defined by the dress code for school. You can find this in your Student Handbook.

Appropriate dress for Prom will include the following guidelines…

• Spaghetti straps and strapless dresses are okay.• Two-piece dresses must overlap. No midriff can show even

when arms are raised.• Mesh or see-through inserts in the midriff will not be

allowed.• Camisole backs (lace-up) are okay.• Front and back of dress must not be too low-cut or

revealing. Back of dress should not go below natural waist.

• Short dresses must follow dress code measurement, which is to the top of the knee. This includes any slits on long dresses.

• Underwear must be worn.

Dress cont….

• Boys must wear standard formal wear, which includes dark business suits and appropriate footwear. No flipflops, tennis shoes, or athletic shoes will be allowed.

• Proper and formal grooming is expected. • No unusual hairdos or hair color.• No rave party accessories, such as flow sticks, are allowed.• No costumes allowed.• If you are not dressed appropriately, you will not be allowed

to enter the Prom. • Remember, if in doubt, don’t wear it! • We’re looking forward to a great time this spring.

Late Busses!

• The late busses depart our campus at 5:00pm.

• Bus passes are required to ride the late bus!• The late bus passes come from your teacher

or coach that you were with.• Late busses leave from the West end of the

building (teacher parking lot side) at the regular bus departure area.

C-116 Tuesday through Friday mornings at 6:45am

• Students:• If you have forgotten your homework,

lunch, sports clothes, lunch money, wallet, books, etc. (anything that you need for school), please check with the Front Office-Parents drop off many items without the students knowing.
