I used the title sequence of ‘Catch me if you can’ to get an idea of a possible order of credits we could use on the opening sequence of our film.

The first thing that comes up is the name of the production company which is ‘Dreamworks.’ It is the first thing the audience see which may encourage them to keep watching because they have seen another film they liked by the same production company.

The next thing that comes up tells you more about the production company and if they produced it or not.

The first person to be credited in the making of the film is the director, in this case Steven Spielberg. He is the first person to be credited to show that his role is the most important in the making of the film.

The next person to be credited is the main actor, which is Leonardo DiCaprio. He is the first actor to be mentioned which shows that he has the lead role.

Tom Hanks is the next actor to be credited before the title of the film is shown.

The title of the film is the next thing to be shown.

After that the titles go on to name the other supporting actors and actresses. (One per screen.)

Until this point:

This is the first point throughout the titles where more than one actor has been mentioned at one time. After this there is another one screen with three actors before it reaches the next stage.

After that it then goes on to mention casting, co-producers, music, costume design and more (such as film editor, production designer, director of photography, co-executive producer, executive producer, executive producer, then director gets mentioned again and screenplay).
