Issues and SolutionsOur actions can lead to

positive change.Issues, problems, issues! There are big and little issues and problems that concern a lot of people. Some problems and issues have obvious solutions while some issues and problems seem to have no solution.

In your Exhibition process you will get a chance to apply your skills as an action taker to some of these issues and problems. You will be choosing a real problem(either local or global) and carefully working through to a solution and take some action to help this issue or problem.

Working through this Exhibition journal will help you organize your time and resources to discover the best solution to your chosen issue or problem.

Good luck!

Developing Lines of Inquiry

You have defined your problem/issue in relation to Form, Function, Causation andResponsibility.Look at the remaining two Concepts to clarify your lines of inquiry

Connection How is it connected to other issues/problems?

It is linked to our topic because our actions can lead to positive how we could see by the fourth graders change.

Perspective What are other points of view?

I found the exhibition was a little minimized with the space but other it was fine.

Searching and Collecting

Our actions can lead to positive change.

Our Process – Searching and Collecting

People to whom we spoke:

From this person we learnedWe learned from Ms.Orlagh We learned from a Highscool librarian.

That if you download things and sell them that their will be seriously consequences.\And that the laws in Switzerland and America are different.

Surveys we created and distributed

The group surveyed:Number of people surveyed:

Important conclusion we can make from the results: We know that many people don’t know about illegal selling and downloading.

The group surveyed:Number of people surveyed:

Important conclusion we can make from the results: We learned that the websites that are illegal in America are not illegal in Switzerland.

Conversations with our advisor:

With our advisor we talked about that we make things illegal not the websites.

Page 11: Coolest exhibition journal in the world

Process Reflection

These are things I thought about our topic before BUT now I think differentlyI thought differently now because I found out that not the websites make it

illegal it is us that makes it illegal.

The are ideas I had about our problem/issue before AND I still have nowI have the issue that people download songs and sells them and we still do.

These are things about our problem/issue that still challenge us and we still wonder about

We still are thinking about how we an stop people downloading things.

We would like our audience to leave our presentation with these “BIG UNDERSTANDINGS”

We want them to leave with thinking that downloading things and selling them is illegal and their will be serious consequences.

Synthesizing and Connecting

Our actions can lead to positive change.

Page 12: Coolest exhibition journal in the world

Think of Solutions.ACTION!

Brainstorm a wide range of ideas that could help solve this problem/issue

Here is your chance to be creative. Write down all possible answers. Do not discard any yet because this is your chance to start thinking outside the box to find a creative solution. Be creative, unusual, fanciful, practical and obvious. S T R E T C H your imagination!

We could contact the FBI We could make a presentation in the next assemblyWe are making book marks that change people’s thoughts. And go to the fourth graders

Our actions can lead to positive change.

Time-bound

Specific •Is your action clear•Does everyone understand about how your action will happen?•Have you covered 5 “W”s and the “H”?Measurable•How will you know your action has worked?Attainable•Will you be successful taking this action?Relevant•Does this action actually relate to your problem?Time-bound•Will you have enough time to implement your action?

We can make a

difference

Make your Action PlanPart 1

How will your action affect your problem?

Our action will affect our problem because people will think differently about selling copyrighted items.

Who needs to be convinced?

I think the target audience is children adults teachers everything itsept animals.

What objections might you come up against?

I think the objects that we will be up against are illegal sellers.

How can you overcome those objections?

We cant overcome most of them but we can make a difference by changing thoughts.

What resources will you need?

We will need time we will need perspectives and we need team players.

Who can help you?

I think that nobody can really effectively help us people can only help us get ideas.

Where should you begin?

I think we can begin well in the assembly because people know us and they are easy to convince.

What will be your next step?

Our next step is maybe talking with the Fbi but that is not likely.

Who will do what to achieve your action?

We will share talking bits and make different things like posters or bookmarks.

Our actions can lead to positive change.

REFLECTIONActing and Sharing

ii

We can make a difference

I found our action was interesting and extremely successful according to the survey.

My action was going the small children 4 th graders and telling the punishments of selling movies from the internet.

I enjoyed going to them because they were listening and were interested

Page 16: Coolest exhibition journal in the world

Exhibition night reflection

Our actions can lead to positive change.

By exhibition I suppose I did well because people were interestedAnd had fun (they laughed).

I also found they learned a lot.

When I presented I felt like I was alone doing everything I was Scared… But I was not the only one and that made me feel self Confident. When I prepared I found that I did well because the poster was Looking good and everything was fine.

Page 17: Coolest exhibition journal in the world

My final message is…That you are not the clever one by downloading things you will turn out the dumb one
