I took some inspirations from the magazine contents page of ‘Billboard’ for example I used the logo of the magazine to go on the top corner

of the contents page, I found that it would give it a more professional and authentic look. I then decided to use two images of the featured

artists at the top of the contents page. I found that the ‘Billboard’ magazine did not have too many images there were only 4 images

used. I also used the way in which they were positioned to influence my contents page. The two images of the artists are seen to be next

to each other on the top of the page with the page number it is associated with, next to it. There is also the use of one main image

of one person on the left hand side and so I decided to use this convention too.

The ‘Billboard’ magazine also had the subheading ‘features’ which was something that attracted me towards reading what was under the

heading and so I decided to use this idea in my contents page. Lastly, I used two colours for the text to indicate what was on the pages within the magazine. For example on ‘Billboard’, the two

colours used where blue and black. I then decided to use the maroon colour along with the black font. The text in the maroon font is what attracts the audience first as well as summarising what the page is

about hence the reason why I chose to do this like ‘Billboard’

I also used the magazine ‘We Heart Pop’ to help influence some ideas for my contents page. This is again shown through the idea of having the masthead/ logo of the

magazine on the top corner of the page. I also used the idea of a main image on the page; I found that this was

a common convention in all types of pop music magazines. I used the idea of an editors note because I

felt as though it worked really well on the ‘We Heart Pop’ magazine due to the target audience. Also

because my magazine is aimed more towards females, an editors note is something which could possibly appeal to them due to the style of writing of this.

Finally I decided to add some colour to the page just as ‘we heart pop’ does and so I decided to place a

coloured square behind the white background of the text. It makes the page stand out more and it brings

the whole page together better.
