Structure
If +conditional+result if it’s rains we will stay at
home.
Result + if + conditionalWe will stay at home if it’s

CONDITIONALS TYPES
ZERO CONDITIONAL: CERTAINLY
If + present simple = present simple.
Ex: if I am late my father takes me to school.
->my father takes me to school, if I am late
FIRST CONDITIONAL: REAL POSSIBILITY
If + present simple = future.
If you study hard, You will pass your exam.
You will pass your exam If you study hard.
SECOND CONDITIONAL: DREAMS
If + past simple = would, should, could and might +
base verb.
Ex: If I won the lottery I Would buy a
car.
THIRD CONDITIONALS: NO POSSIBILITY
If + past perfect + would have+ past participle.
If they had not passed the exam their teachers would
have been sad.
Time Clauses
Before:
Maureen washed the floor, Before,she watched the soccer match.
•After:
Maureen washed the floor, after the soccer
match.
When.
Maureen washed the floor, When the soccer match ended.
While
Maureen washed the floor,while she was watching the soccer match.
