COMPLETE YOUR MBA
ASSIGNMENTS ON TIME BY
OVERCOMING PROCRASTINATION
Students; irrespective of their stream, are falling
prey to procrastination since a long time. Such a
negative tendency is becoming more common
with the developments in technology, since the
advent of new electronic products is leading to
more distractions. But it does not mean that
procrastination cannot be prevented.
ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PROCRASTINATION
Procrastination is referred to the tendency of lacking the effort to take adequate actions in order to complete any important task.
It is often a result of the fear of not achieving desired results. As a result, people keep delaying a given task, which leads to unnecessary rush at the last moment.
Several researchers claim that this problem lies in a person’s psychology and just like any other habit procrastination can be demolished.
Here we will discuss the scientific techniques
that will allow you to combat procrastination and
lead a more productive life.
RESCHEDULE YOUR TO-DO LIST
People often include every task they need to complete, in their To-Do list. And that is a huge mistake. Make sure you do not repeat the same by listing the easier tasks in your chart.
Instead, look for the most difficult tasks and put it in your schedule. Keep the list short and simple.
Excessively long To-Do lists can overwhelm you, which may lead to more procrastination.
IDENTIFY THE REASON OF YOUR PROCRASTINATION
Figure out what is stopping you from completing
a given task and work on the solution. If some
kind of distraction is causing you to delay your
task, make sure that you prevent the sources of
distraction.
Always remember that your will and
determination can help you achieve everything.
MANAGE YOUR TIME
Time management is an essential trait of
managers, which you should master during your
time at the B-School.
Set timers for completing any particular job and
more importantly, break a huge project into
smaller sections. It will help you to be more
creative and productive, without worrying about
the size of the task.
COMPLETE DREADED TASKS FIRST
Our energy levels are higher in the mornings,
which allow our mind and body to work on the
most difficult tasks. Additionally, facing the worst
enemy during early hours of the day will allow
you to feel relaxed during the later hours.
TAKE ENOUGH BREAKS
According to researchers, procrastination is more
common in people who do not take enough breaks
during their work hours as compared to lazy
people. It is time that you stop thinking about your
projects during your lunch break or vacations.
Instead, take more breaks to minimise your stress
levels. It will help you to come back and face your
nemesis with more motivation and a fresh mind.
HEALTH SHOULD BE YOUR PRIORITY
How effective you are, depends on how healthy
your mind and body stays.
Develop a habit of workout for at least 30
minutes every day.
Exercise increases your metabolism and that in
turn, allows you to tackle the most difficult jobs
on the planet.
REWARD YOUR EFFORTS
Every time you complete a task, treat yourself
with a small reward. The international football
icons mark their success by drawing a tattoo on
their body.
Similarly, you can gift yourself a shirt or a pan-
cake, each time you have achieved any
personal academic target.
FOCUS ON THE BIGGER PICTURE
Grades matter when you are competing with your fellow classmates, but it is not as much important as the lessons learned in life.
Make sure you take practical lessons from each of your MBA assignments that you may implement in your future tasks as a manager.
It is seen that productivity increases rapidly when a person focuses on learning new things rather than mugging up the same thing repeatedly just to secure good grades.
