A population map shows how many people live in a place. This kind of map shows thedensity of population. Density of population means how many people live in a certain area,usually a square mile. The map on the left below shows the population of Brazil. Notice themap key. It shows the density scale, or how many persons per square mile.
A climate map tells about the kind of weather a certain area has. The map on the rightbelow shows the climate of Brazil. Three climate types are listed in the map key. Eachclimate type is indicated by a pattern. Find each pattern on the map.
You can compare the two maps to learn things about Brazil. For example, you can findwhich type of climate people in Brazil prefer. Some of the largest cities in Brazil are locatedwhere the climate is mild. Find that area on the two maps.
