Contrasts of differences of the two movies:

The Proposal and Beauty and The Briefcase are two fascinating movies, but

made in different years, one in the year 2009 and the other 2010. Both movies stars

are women that love their carrier, at the same time love life comes in. Although these

movies have some minor similarities, the differences between them are noteworthy.

First and foremost, comparison between the main actresses, The Proposal is

about a woman, in New York, Margaret Tate, a successful self-made chief-editor of

the Ruick & Hunt Publishing and loathed by her coworkers. Margaret lost her parents

when she was sixteen and is tough with the employees of the office. Where as, Beauty

and The Briefcase is about a determined fashion journalist Lane Daniels (Hilary Duff)

weighs love against ambition while researching the Cosmopolitan cover story that

could make or break her career. An aspiring writer who has always dreamt of penning

a cover story for Cosmo, Lane makes a pitch to editor Kate White (Jaime Pressly) for

an article entitled "Switching Careers to Find Love."

Likewise, another reason for me to say the variances is that in the movie The

Proposal, Margaret is only sticking to one man where when she has problems with the

immigration due to an expired visa and is threatened with deportation, she blackmails

Andrew to agree to marry her. In return, he would be promoted to editor and she

would publish his book. Meanwhile in Beauty and The Briefcase, Lane is punching

the clock, and juggling boyfriends.

As you can see, the first movie is when how Margaret gets love for her job.

Nevertheless, Lane is getting the job to find love. That’s how different it is. Also the

movie The Proposal, how the “Boss” Margaret gets to marry her executive assistant

and aspirant editor Andrew Paxton, that has been working with her for three years

without any recognition. But for as Beauty and the Briefcase, Lane (a worker) has the

green light, instructing her to first seek out a corporate job, and commence dating as

many of her co-workers as possible.

In addition, the clearer differences are the settings and locations in these two

movies are not the same. The movie, The Proposal starts of being in the New York

City and then interchanges to the countryside where Andrew’s family is staying in

Sitka, Alaska, to celebrate the ninetieth birthday of Andrew's grandmother and

Margaret is welcomed by his heartwarming family. However, the movie Beauty and

The Briefcase, starts of in New York City and ends in New York City, as she finds

men she can date, and does so, without quick success at her goal.

In conclusion, Margaret and Lane acts from entirely different time stages,

perspectives and communicate entirely distinct purposes. They each make use of

voice to different ends and act in diverse manners.
