We use comparative of superiority to compare two nouns and we use superlative to compare three or more nouns . Note that adjectives with a consonant, a single vowel and a consonant double the last letter before adding -er/-est. Ex: bigger/biggest.Two-syllable adjectives ending in -y remove the -y and add -er/est.Example: Happier/happiest, Funnier/Funniest, Easier/easiest.

● ADJECTIVES WITH TWO OR MORE SYLLABLESFor adjectives with two syllables (that don’t end in -y) and higher (3,4,... syllables) we use more for the comparative and the most for the superlative.

Note that two- syllable adjectives with these endings -ful/ -less/ -ing/ -ed/ -ous always form their comparatives and superlatives with more and most.Examples: Beautiful, hopeless, interesting, bored, serious.
