Community Schools Interactive Form and Dynamic Pages 1

• UWBA needs to verify/add contact information for all its community schools in preparation for a national conference coming up in early November.

• As an incentive, UWBA is running a contest for a school to win a gift card and a pizza party.

• UWBA sends out an email to individual Principals, Vice-Principles, and School Co-ordinators inviting them to participate by reviewing and updating their information OR add their school’s information if they don’t have a page yet.

• The deadline for them to complete this action is October 31st.• Deadline for the email to go out is Tuesday, October 21st• Programming estimate 30+ hours

Goal of project


School reads the email. They click a link that takes them to their page where they can edit real time any information that is incorrect. The link text will be the name of the school using MailChimp’s merge tag feature. The link target will be a custom url that will populate the community schools’ form.

If they don’t have a page, the link takes them to a blank form to fill in which populates a page real time although it won’t be published until an admin approves the content.

The school administrator clicks the submit button and their school is entered to win the goodies.

A confirmation message appears to let the person know the submission was successful.

Link structure for GET url to populate the form


If a new page is created for a school, the page will be located in the list of pages on the MorWeb admin panel waiting for approval and a website administrator will publish the page.

If the information in the database has been edited, it will reflect and update on the existing page and viewable upon refresh.

The website admin can be edite or delete the page through the contacts area of the MorWeb administration panel of uwba.org.

Our Story: Frick Middle School is a community

school made up of academically and socially minded

successful students. These Kings and Queens

are focused on increasing their academic levels

while becoming more involved and aware in their

community. Our API scores since 2005 have grown

significantly and we show no signs of stopping. Our

aim is to engage the community (city and county

government, community based organizations, faith-

based and the local business community among others)

to create the conditions that lead to student academic

and social success. Principal Jerome Gourdine views

each student as his own and truly creates a home away

from home where every student can feel safe.

MorWeb will be provided a CVS spreadsheet with columns for each field in the form. We will standardize the data across the schools.

UWBA will prepare the email and the csv for Mailchimp’s merge tags in the list.

Where does the data come from?


Create database connection with Community School’s form which will populate and create new pages dynamically.

Create functionality to allow data to populate the Community School’s form from a custom GET url.
