The festivity took place in the community centre of Mathiatis village. The programme began with the hymn of the Comenius partnership, the song “Kite”, by all the children of the school.

The children of 5th and 6th grade greeted the guests in greek, italian, romanian, polish and estonian language.

Page 4: comenius day

Greetings from the headmistress of the school, Elli Hadjipapa-Parpa followed. After that, the objectives and the activities of the

programme conducted during the first year of its implementation were presented by the coordinator, Soteroula Marathefti.

Thank diplomas were given to people and organisations that were involved in various activities of the project.

Page 6: comenius day

Children of 5th and 6th grade sang the traditional song “Aspron triantafyllon” (white rose).

Page 7: comenius day

4th and 5th grade girls danced a traditional women dance, “Gynaikeios kartzilamas”.

Page 8: comenius day

Boys of 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade danced a traditional men dance “Antrikos kartzilamas” and the “tatsia” (sieve) dance.

1st and 2nd grade children sang the traditional song“Portokalia tou Karava” (Karava’s orange tree).

1st and 2nd grade children also danced a cypriot “Syrtos” dance.

Children of 3rd and 4th grade sang the traditional song“Drosoula”.

5th and 6th grade children danced “sousta”.

At the festival, a photo exhibition from the activities and the mobilities of the programme was presented.
