CHAPTER 1

PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Page 3: colloquium

INTRODUCTIONIn education, the term “module” refers to

an instructional unit that focuses on a particular topic. Although the details and activities vary according to the

specific context, such as course and student level, most educational

modules include information about the topic, focus on students. Centered

learning activities and culminate in a project for students to demonstrate

understanding.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

National seminar-workshop on module and workbook writing for the k to 12

curriculums.

Page 5: colloquium

The trends and techniques resource center and training services will conduct the

five-day national seminar-workshop on module and workbook writing for the k to 12 curriculums with theme activity-based

module writing and workbook design with formative assessment and

validation of learning strategies. An effective instructional tool for content

and performance assessment in the k to 12 curriculum

LITERATURE REVIEW

Percical (2005) as cited by Deriquito (2011) define module as an organized

collection of learning experiences assembled in order to achieve an organized collection of learning

experiences assembled in order to achieve a specified group of related

objectives or a self-contained section of a course or programmed of

instruction.

THERETICAL FRAMEWORK

The control theory of motivation, proposed

by William Glasser, contents that behavior is never caused by a response

to an outside stimulus. Instead, the behavior is inspired by what a person

wants most at any given time.

The figure that follows was the conceptual framework used in this

research. The input frame consist of the objectives of teachers strategies, the

mathematics performance of the Grade 7 students by uses the teacher’s module or other references like educational books.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The study aims to develop the performances of the students in math.

The uses of teacher’s module is to develop there higher order skills which involves active awareness and control over the cognitive process engaged in

learning.
