Mathematics Performance of Grade VII Students by Instructional
Strategies Using Teacher’s Module of Selected National High School in
District 4A of Laguna
CHAPTER 1
PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
INTRODUCTIONIn education, the term “module” refers to
an instructional unit that focuses on a particular topic. Although the details and activities vary according to the
specific context, such as course and student level, most educational
modules include information about the topic, focus on students. Centered
learning activities and culminate in a project for students to demonstrate
understanding.
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
National seminar-workshop on module and workbook writing for the k to 12
curriculums.
The trends and techniques resource center and training services will conduct the
five-day national seminar-workshop on module and workbook writing for the k to 12 curriculums with theme activity-based
module writing and workbook design with formative assessment and
validation of learning strategies. An effective instructional tool for content
and performance assessment in the k to 12 curriculum
LITERATURE REVIEW
Percical (2005) as cited by Deriquito (2011) define module as an organized
collection of learning experiences assembled in order to achieve an organized collection of learning
experiences assembled in order to achieve a specified group of related
objectives or a self-contained section of a course or programmed of
instruction.
THERETICAL FRAMEWORK
The control theory of motivation, proposed
by William Glasser, contents that behavior is never caused by a response
to an outside stimulus. Instead, the behavior is inspired by what a person
wants most at any given time.
CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
The figure that follows was the conceptual framework used in this
research. The input frame consist of the objectives of teachers strategies, the

2. What are the instructional strategies of teachers using teacher’s module?
3. What are the mathematics performances of grade 7 students?
4. What are the other references of teaching strategies?
6. Is there significant relationship between teacher’s modules to the strategies of teachers?
7. Is there significant relationship between the strategies of teachers to mathematics performances of students?
8. Is there significant relationship between the teacher’s modules to mathematics performances of students?
HYPOTHESIS
There is no significant relationship between the strategies of teachers to
teacher’s module to mathematics performances of students
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
The study aims to develop the performances of the students in math.
The uses of teacher’s module is to develop there higher order skills which involves active awareness and control over the cognitive process engaged in
learning.
BENIFICIARIES OF STUDY
Teachers.
Students.
Future teachers.
DEFINITION OF TERMS Module. That is a self-contained of self-learning kit designed to make learning easier among students and teachers as well.
Teacher’s module. This term refers to the hand book of students to have advance study
Survey. To ask a question or a series of question in order to gather information about what most people do or think about something.
CHAPTER 2
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
In this chapter, the research design, respondents of the study, population and
sampling techniques, research procedure, research instrument and the
statistical tools to be used are discussed.
RESEARCH DESIGN
The study aims to determine the effectiveness of strategy of techniques
using teacher’s module approach in learning mathematics among grade 7
students. The study give employ a descriptive survey method of research
using questionnaire as the instrument in gathering data.
RESPONDENTS OF THE STUDY
The respondents needed for this research study involved mathematics
teachers and their students in selected school in district 4A of Laguna.
RESEARCH INSTRUMENT
The researcher will use a questionnaire in gathering the data needed determine
the strategy of teacher and the effectiveness of their strategy through
their students.
