All-Day Workshops held August 5-7, 2014 Cost: $50.00 per day OR $125.00 for all three days Day of Exploration (Day 1—August 5) The Day of ExploraƟon is all about digital content. Keeping your content Ɵmely and relevant can be a challenge when only using printed materials. On this rst day of our “tech” venture, we will explore a myriad of digital content sources that can help you bring rich content to your classes. From the use of Discovery EducaƟon to OER Commons and through a variety of content specic primary sources, you will have the opportunity to explore and collect the resources that are most relevant to your classroom. Day of Collaboration (Day 2—August 6) CollaboraƟon helps students develop 21 st Century thinking skills, deepen content understanding, and prepare for the global world. During the Day of CollaboraƟon, teachers will learn how to plan and manage collaboraƟon acƟviƟes that integrate online collaboraƟve tools (such as Edmodo, Linoit, Google Tools, and more) which are increasingly part of our globally connected workplaces. Day of Gamification (Day 3—August 7) GamicaƟon is the applicaƟon of digital game techniques to nongame problems, such as educaƟon and social challenges. The Day of GamicaƟon is all about games, gamifying your current content and digital badging as students master content. From the simple task of using games to review and/or introduce new concepts to building a lesson or unit with a gaming concept and badges that indicate mastery, teachers will have an opportunity to leave this day with some great ways to bring gaming to their classroom. A3day professional development experience that will help teachers of all subjects and grade levels learn more about the evolving world of classroom technology. Through handson exploraƟon, teachers will learn about digital resources for content, collaboraƟve tools that engage students, and ways to gamify lessons or units within their classroom.
