EXCLAMATORY TO ASSERTIVE

Dear students,

Exclamatory may be assertive in five ways.

So, lets see the pattern

1.First the sub2.Verb3.Very / great 4.Adj

Excl: How nice the bird is !

Ass: The bird is very nice.

How + adj +sub + verb

MORE EXAMPLE

Excl: How sweetly the cuckoo sings !

Ass : The cuckoo sings very sweetly.

Excl: How talkative she was !

Ass : She was very talkative.

Excl: How pretty the girl it is !

Ass: The girl is very pretty.

Ass: He is a great fool.

What + a/an + adj + verb

Great will follow the following adjectives

Stupid

Nonsense

IdiotFool

Cheat

Great

MORE EXAMPLE

Excl: What a nice flower the rose is !

Ass : The rose is a very nice flower .

Excl: What a big river the Padma is !

Ass : The Padma is a very big river .

Excl: What a wonderful scenery it is !

Ass: It is a very wonderful scenery .

If it means the exclamation with the flowing words

To make it assertive start with I wish

Excl: If I wear a bird !Ass : I wish I ware a bird.

Ass : I wish I been a marcent.

To make it Assertive

Exclaim with Joy Exclaim with sorrow

Excl: Hurrah ! We have won the match.Ass : It is a matter of joy that we have won the match.

Excl: Alas ! I am undone.Ass : It is a matter of sorrow that I am undone.

Excl: Hurrah! We are victorious !

Ass : It is a matter of joy that we are victorious.

Excl: Alas! He has failed.

Ass : It is a matter of sorrow that he has failed .
