Welcome to Ioannina!

To learn more about the city you are going to walk

through six stops to view some important attractions!

The map will help you, but if you have any difficulties

the Greek team can support you. Please be careful

during the game. Do not walk away from your team and

be careful of cars and bikes! In each STOP you should be

attentive, because after the short presentation the

responsible students involved will ask you a question. If

your answer is correct you get a piece of puzzle……….

THE RIDDLES WHICH WILL GUIDE YOU ARE:

1. STOP

It's big, but smaller than the “Big Ben”

It tells the time

It's in the center of the town

What is it?

2. STOP

It’s a historical building in the center of the town

Hidden behind trees, it’s not easy to find

Great knowledge is “trapped” in its old shelves

It’s near the city’s post

Try not to get lost!!!

3. STOP

You are searching for a point where three different architectural styles meet

One style reminds of an old empire which by the Ottomans was beat

The second is created by the local architectural style

Columns and gables decorate the last

Which is inspired from a past civilization

Can you find it?

4. STOP

You are standing in front of a stone structure.

To the castle it leads.

There are many gates in the castle,

but over it there is a clock.

In the 19th century only from here

could the residents of Ioannina get into their town

5. STOP

It’s a big building with stones around and

it hosts some significant files (archives) of our nation and our city.

We hope you will like it!

It’s in the castle,

It’s like an acropolis

You can find a mosque in it!
