Guttering and downpipes can be made from pressed steel or most commonly uPVC. However you may come across other materials such as asbestos or cast iron on older buildings.

Gutters should be laid with any fall towards the nearest outlet.

A suggested gutter fall should be 12mm over a 6 m length.
