We aRe Ready Students who are Tardy for class
Students are expected to be Ready for class (with an ID on) and in their seats at 8:25am.
Students who arrive late on campus must sign in at the attendance office. Students who miss
more than one half of an instructional block will be marked absent for that block of instruction.
Attendance In addition to passing grades, a student must attend school regularly to receive credit for that course.
Students are expected to attend school regularly and must present a written excuse for each absence.
Written excuses must be received in Attendance within three days of the absence. Written excuses
received after the student’s 3rd day back in school will result in the absence being recorded as unlawful.
According to state law, a student on an A/B schedule is allowed five absences per course if the course is
for a full unit of credit and three absences if the course is for one half unit of credit. In order to receive
credit for a class, students must make-up or re-capture time for any unlawful absence that exceeds five in
a yearlong course and three in a semester course.
Per Board policy, seniors may not walk at graduation if all requirements for graduation have not been
met. This includes meeting the attendance requirements for receiving credit.
