BODY - What is child physical abuse? + This is when a child is hurt or injured by a child or an adult. Physical abuse includes hitting, kicking, punching and other ways of inflicting pain or injury such as poisoning, drowning or smothering. It also includes giving a child harmful drugs or alcohol. - What cause of child physical abuse? + This is when adults may have: emotional or behavioral problems such as difficulty controlling their anger family or relationship problems experienced abuse as a child parenting difficulties including unrealistic expectations of children, not understanding a child’s needs or no idea how to respond to a child health issues. - Child physical abuse damages children both physically and emotionally. The longer physical abuse of a child continues, the more serious the consequences. The initial effects of physical abuse are painful and emotionally traumatic for the child. The long-term consequences of physical abuse impact on the child in their adult life, on their family and on the community. In the most extreme cases, physical abuse results in the death of the child. - Look at the picture. This is Khôi - 2 years old. II. BODY- What is child physical abuse?

+ This is when a child is hurt or injured by a child or an adult. Physical abuse includes hitting, kicking, punching and other ways of inflicting pain or injury such as poisoning, drowning or smothering. It also includes giving a child harmful drugs or alcohol.

- What cause of child physical abuse?+ This is when adults may have: emotional or behavioral problems such as difficulty controlling their anger family or relationship problems experienced abuse as a child parenting difficulties including unrealistic expectations of children, not understanding

- Look at the picture. This is Khôi - 2 years old. He is beat by grandmother because he break the medicated oil or Ngân – 4 years old, she is beat by mother and step father because she play gas cooker. All of 2 child are beat ruthlessly, their health is threatened seriously.

- So, what can we do in order to prevent child physical abuse and protect children from it? Discipline effectively

Remember, children are still children. They can be loud, unruly & destructive. They will break things, not pick up their toys or clean their room… They will inevitably do things that may make their parents feel irritated, frustrated, disappointed and angry. You should reward them when they do something good and punish them when they do something wrong, but not by violence. You should teach them that consequences of their actions. Changing a child’s behavior is not easy. However, children should not be discipline through violence

Regain control If you feel lose control, you can count to 10, take deep breaths, listen to music,

take a bath… These tips can help you control yourself effectively

Get help & report If you suspect child abuse is occurring, first report it to the local child protective

services agency in your country or state. Professionals who work with children are required by law to report reasonable suspicion of abuse or neglect.

III. CONCLUSION- In summary, child physical abuse damages children both physically and emotionally- The long-term consequences of physical abuse impact on the child in their adult life, on their

family and on the community.- Remember, child abuse is wrong and should always be stopped.
