Once upon a t ime there was a happy l itt le boy ca l led Char l ie . Char l ie was b londe with cur ly ha ir

and b lue eyes . He was very , very sweet .

One day Char l ie went with h is mother to buy a new jacket. The jacket was red

with a b ig green button . He abso lute ly loved it !

Next day , after school , Char l ie went to p lay footba l l w ith h is fr iends :

Johnny the Mouse , Paqu ito the Cat , Glenda the Hen , T i l ly the Owl and the mice twins Mi l ly and Vani l ly .

Unfortunate ly , wh i le Char l ie was p lay ing footbal l , he lost the b ig green button . He was very upset and immid iat ly he asked

to Ti l ly the Owl (who was on top of a tree) to have a look around. Ti l ly the Owl d id not see it . Afterwards , Char l ie a lso asked to h is other fr iends to he lp h im to f ind the b ig green

button . But nobody could f ind it . It was gett ing late and Char l ie dec ided to go back home . He fe lt so sad .

His fr iends , who were very sorry for l itt le Char l ie , spent a l l n ight seek ing for the button in the grass where they a l l had been p lay ing footbal l that afternoon . But a lthough the n ight

was starry and fu l l moon they couldn ’t f ind the green big button , but a l l k ind of other beaut ifu l co loury buttons ! So at

the end, they dec ided to sew a l l the coloury buttons on Char l ie ’ s new jacket .

Next day , Char l ie ’ s fr iends went to h is house to g ive h im the new jacket . He was so p leased and fe lt so happy to have such good fr iends .

Charl ie ’ s mum baked a de l ic ious chocolate cake to thank h is fr iends and a lso to ce lebrate

When l itt le Char l ie went to bed , he found the b ig green button in one of the pockets

of the co loury buttoned jacket .
