Charles John Huffam Dickens  he was an English writer and social critic. He is regarded as the greatest novelist of the Victorian era.  His works enjoyed unprecedented popularity during his lifetime. by the twentieth century critics and scholars had recognized him as a

literary genius. His novels and short stories enjoy lasting popularity. Dickens left school to work in a factory when his father was

incarcerated in a debtors’ prison. he edited a weekly journal for 20 years, wrote 15 novels, five novellas,

hundreds of short stories and non-fiction articles. lectured and performed extensively, was an indefatigable letter writer,

and campaigned vigorously for children's rights.

Oliver is an orphan child. His mother died giving birth to Oliver.

He spends his first years in the asylum Mrs. Mann. Like the other children in the orphanage, Oliver suffers constantly hungry.

He was Hidden in the Woods, tired and hungry, he meets Jack Dawkins, who offers him a place to sleep in London.

Oliver is in the midst of a band of poster boys, led by the evil Fagin.

Oliver is driven and persecuted by limes, courtyards and alleys in London.

Oliver meets a woman named Nancy, who earns his living on the street.

Poverty and social class Poverty is a prominent concern in Oliver Twist. Throughout the novel, Dickens enlarged on this theme, describing slums so decrepit that whole rows of houses are on the point of ruin.Oliver, an innocent child, is trapped in a world where his only options seem to be the workhouse, a life of crime symbolized by Fagin's gang, a prison, or an early grave.
