Antagonist

In horror/thriller movies the antagonists are normally people who actually know their victims and are after them for either revenge, jealously of just spite. They usually know specific facts and details about their victims with out them even knowing such as their phone number, where they live, their name and as shown in screams opening sequence who they have dated before. They usually also normally have a use a different voice. Their weapon is shown to the audience before they actually use it for example in scary movie and scream there is a medium shot of the knife which the will use to eventually kill their victims.

Protagonists

In horror/thrillers movies the protagonists are normally females who are shown to be young, innocent and naïve. The killer usually knows specific facts about them without them even knowing such as their phone numbers, where they live, who they know and in some cases who they have dated in the past as shown in screams opening sequence.
