Katy Perry ~ I kissed a girl

The short dress revealing her legs shows she is not afraid to expose herself. This is also clear from the name of the song, she kissed a girl and is not afraid to hide it. She is using her sexuality and being provocative (by pulling a sexy pose) to promote her song.

I like the way that the text and the photo are both on a white background, it makes the cover stand out, because of the contrast in colour.

Chase & Status ~ More Than Alot

I really like this album cover because there seems to be a lot going on:•The changing of colour and contrast of the black and the bright pink/purple

•The artist’s name is placed right over the top of the album title

•If you look closely there is even things going on in the letters

•It’s a very busy cover

There is ‘more than a lot’ of things happening on the cover, which portrays the album name and the type of music very well. It’s busy music with a lot of changing, technical sounds.

I think the young people who are in the letters are there to show that this music is mainly aimed for younger generation.

Ashanti ~ Concrete Rose

Ashanti is a young artist, you can see this from the photo. Her music is mainly aimed for young people. She looks free and happy which is what young people want to be. Her name is in a free flowing style and an uplifting colour, which portrays the type of music in the album well, because it is free flowing and uplifting music.

The Kooks ~ Inside In Inside Out

The band playing their acoustic guitars clearly shows what instruments they use to compose their music and that it is not loud, techno sounds that they are using.

The artists look like they are concentrating hard and deep in thought. The lyrics that they sing have meaning to them and hold quite strong emotions.

Akon ~ Freedom

The background for the album cover looks like a calming place to be, where people may go to get away from their troubles and be free: the name of the album is freedom. The message that comes across to me from this is that you can listen to this album to get away from the world and be free inside your head.

The way that Akon is standing and the fact that he has a suit and his sunglasses on, portrays to me that he is trying to be cool, therefore people may think his music must be. It is modern music aimed for people who care about being cool, which is mainly teenagers.

50 Cent ~ Get Rich Or Die Trying

50 Cent is a typical American gangster rapper. This is shown well by the jewellery that he is wearing and the muscles that he has on display.

Also the fact that he has his torso showing and his muscles out, makes him looks sexy and tough. He looks like a ‘bad boy’, which is what most young females find attractive and most young males want to be.

There is a feel of risk on this cover and this, to me, comes from the broken glass. A gangster life often has a lot of risks in it.
