Eldon Livermore

Portrayed by Michael Douglas We have chosen Michael to play our

protagonist, Eldon, as having seen him act in other productions of the same genre (drama), we decided that he could deliver an appropriate amount of emotion needed to express Eldon’s suppressed rage and the destruction he has caused/causes in terms of his family and his job.

Practically speaking, Michael is a reliable actor; we have also confirmed the times he is available, and ensured our filming schedule will not breach these times

Michael has been involved in many productions in the past and has studied drama at school, therefore we weren’t sceptical of his experience or ability

James Portrayed by Jonathan Gardner Jonathan will be playing ‘James’, an

annoying schoolboy that Eldon encounters on several occasions

We decided to use Jonathan as he has acted in several productions, both film and on stage, so we are not worried about his acting ability

We believe he is well suited to the role of James, as he has demonstrated the ability to act as an immature, cunning teenager; being a student, he understands the common rocky relationships between students and teachers, and how to make these realistic in relation to the modern society

James studied GCSE Drama and Media studies, and is now an AS student in the same subjects

Elise Portrayed by Alice Lupton Alice will portray ‘Elise’, a sixth form

student who asks Eldon for help with her personal statement - like Elise, Alice is also at the point where she is completing her personal statement, and therefore can relate to the character.

Elise is an informed, polite girl, and we believe these are not only qualities Alice can portray, but through her own clear expression and presentation, we believe Alice can make this believable and the character likeable

While Alice isn’t a drama student, she has adequate acting skills, and studies Media at A Level, through which we’ve seen that she is reliable and understands the production process well.

Ms Fenn Portrayed by Ms Mainwaring Ms Mainwaring was our first choice to play ‘Ms

Fenn’. She is an experienced drama teacher, and after looking at productions she has been involved in, we decided that her style of acting, along with her natural charisma and approach-fulness, that she was well suited to the role

We intend for Ms Fenn to come across as professional, though with a demeanour suggesting she is welcoming and kind

We liked that Ms Mainwaring had quite short, blonde hair, which adds a sense of quirkiness, implying Ms Fenn is different to the other staff; she is portrayed as more relatable, someone Eldon can trust
