An Introduction to the Canvas Learning System aspects of MKT 4270 Summer 2017

On entering Canvas, you arrive at your own Canvas System “Dashboard.” Dashboard shows the courses you are taking. Look for the one that says International Marketing MKT 4270 Summer 2017.

*Note that the slides in this presentation just contain images of what the Canvas pages look like. After going through these introductory Slides, you will be asked to actually log into the Course Canvas site and click on the items shown here.

When you click on the course name from Dashboard you should arrive at the MKT 4270 course home page. From here you click on the Welcome page and read what is there

Later you will be using these chapter shortcuts to navigate around the Modules page.

The Welcome page looks like this. After reading this page, you click the “Modules” name from the main navigation list on the upper left.

On the Modules page you will find everything you need to participate in the course. The item names are self explanatory. When you are on the Modules page, scroll down to see more items.

The blue arrows are pointing out items you should click and read carefully.

And there are more below.

Lower on the Modules page you will find a Module like this for each of the twelve chapters. On a typical day, you will be completing all the items it contains (pretty much in the order listed). (LearnSmart is optional)

Past the 12 chapter listings you will find the final two modules (Final Exam, and Frequently Asked Questions). Before the semester begins, you should familiarize yourself with the Dashboard, Welcome, and Module Pages.

There is a video at the bottom of the Welcome page that should be helpful for better understanding how the pages work, and how you can customize their features.

Ready to begin? Go to the Clemson University Home Page and click “students” in the upper left, then click “CANVAS” in the upper right. Then click the “Clemson Faculty and Students” sign in. After signing in, you should be at your “Dashboard” page, which is where this presentation began.

Prior to the start of class there will be more information provided describing how the course will work. This presentation is only intended to introduce how the course Canvas site is arranged, and to indicate how students should explore all the pages and items.
