CANADIAN FEDERATION OF STUDENTS
● CANADIAN FEDERATION OF STUDENTS● YORK UNIVERSITY IS STILL ACCOUNTABLE. SEE SUPREME COURT OF CANADA SAYS NO! – AFTER ALL
YORK HAS NO BUSINESS IN MATTERS INVOLVING THE CANADA-ONTARIO STUDENT LOANS PROGRAM – IF THEY DO; THEN YORK CAN BE SUED.
● Just one year ago; the Ontario Human Rights Commission was served with strictly private and confidential information about a student who was denied accommodation to employment resources and education at the outset of her post-graduate career at York University.
● York University argues that it cannot be sued. Although the records still shows that it can be sued. The student was a York student in the year of Daniel Freeman-Maloy in 2004,2005, 2006. She seeks relief for interest accruing on her Canada-Ontario student loans.
● The student's name is Rosemary. She was a visiting student at York University. She was denied accommodation and employment support because she was treated as a person with a disability under an undefined section of the Ontario Human Rights Code (see High need students with special needs).
● York University is sued for millions of dollars as a result. The student was innocent. She was still expelled from school without a disciplinary hearing. She now sues the Ontario government because she was reported by York officials as homeless and missing and later on a possible suspect in an unrelated investigation.
● For close captioned details on the latest argument brought forward to the Canadian Universities Association visit her online at www.slideshare.net/RosemarylDeCaires.
