IMPACT OF BUDGET 2013-14 IN THESE FOLLOWING SECTORS :
• AUTOMOBILE•MEDIA & ENTERTAINMENT•BANK AND FINANCIAL INSTITUTION• FMCG SECTOR•INFRASTRUCTURE•HOSPITALITY•TEXTILE
AUTOMOBILE
• Rs 14,883 crore allocated to Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) for purchase of 10,000 buses under the city modernisation scheme
• excise duty on SUVs hiked from 27% to 30%
MEDIA & ENTERTAINMENT
• Increase in customs duty to 10% from 15% on set top boxes• Last year, at the request of the film industry, the Budget had accepted full exemption of service tax was granted on copyright on cinematography. This year the Budget has accepted the industry's request to exempt service tax on films exhibited in cinema halls.
BANK & FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS
•The Finance Minister earmarked Rs 14,000 crore for capital infusion in Public sector .•10 billion rupees' worth of initial capital to set up India's first women's bank, which will be another public sector bank.•budget proposed additional interest deductions of up to 1 lakh rupees in 2013-14 on first-time housing loans of up to 2.5 million rupees.
FMCG SECTOR
• The rate of tax on payment of royalty and fees for technical services to foreign company has been increased from 10% to 15%•Excise duty on cigarettes has been increased by about 18%•In other tobacco products have also increased in excise duty
INFRASTRUCTURE
•Investment allowance of 15%•50000cr limit for tax free infra bonds positive for infra sector•Construction of 1,500 km 2 rail corridors to start by 2014-end
HOSPITALITY
This budget has proposedTo levy service tax on all air conditioned restaurant.
TEXTILE
The Union Budget has proposed to do away with excise duty on cotton and manmade sector (spun yarn) at the yarn, fabric and garment stages.
