♪ What’s Rock?

It is a contemporary musical genre guided to include each one of the

diverse musical types of the rock and roll. It’s usually interpreted, among

other many instruments that occasionally are added, with the

guitar, drums, and bass. Many styles of rock music also use keyboard

instruments like the organ, the piano, or the synthesizers.

The primitive rock is derived of great quantity of sources, mainly the blues,

rhythm and blues and country, but also of the gospel, jazz and folk.

♪ What “Rock n’ roll

means?

The rock n’ roll began to develop around manifestations

against the war. This kind of music was used to ask for peace and so that it didn’t

follow a third world war.

The expression “Rock n’ Roll” was a nautical one. It was used for sailors by

centuries. It refers the “rock” (a backwards and ahead movement) and

“roll” (a side to side movement) of ships.

This expression was adopted by the Gospel, with a religious mean.

RockThe rock music has its origins

with the rock and roll in the 50’s. At the end of the 60’s, the rock

music was combined with the folk, blues and jazz music to create the folk rock, blues rock and the jazz-

rock fusion. In the 70’s, the rock incorporated influences of soul,

funk, and the Latin music. Also in the 70’s, the rock developed several subgenres, as the soft rock, the hard rock, the

progressive rock, the heavy metal and the punk. The subgenres of rock of the 80’s include the glam metal,

the thrash metal and the alternative rock. The subgenres of rock of the 90’s include the rock

grunge, the Britpop, the indie rock, or the nu metal.
