The I-95/395 is an important and unique corridor because it serves current and future military bases.
Along with Pentagon I/95/395 serves five BRAC locations:• Ft. Myer/Henderson Hall• Mark Center • Fort Belvoir• Engineering Proving Grounds/Belvoir North • Marine Corp Base Quantico
Combined they employee 84,000 people.

• Completed by September 15th – Fort Belvoir, Fort Belvoir North, Quantico, Arlington Hall
• BRAC 133 – Mark Center– Moves started – August 9, 2011– As of September 15, 2011 – 2,150 personnel
occupying the Mark Center– By December 2011 – Under 5,000 occupancy – January – August 2012 – remaining 1500
personnel will move into Mark Center

• DoD shuttles operate on 10/15 minute headways• DoD Shuttle Stops: between Mark Center and key
Metro/VRE rail stations: – Pentagon, – King Street, – West Falls Church, and – Franconia-Springfield
• Service operate Monday – Friday from 5:30a.m to 7:30 p.m.

• 4 of the 11 of the proposed stops are Military Bases–Due to BRAC Relocations - Critical Mass– Travel Time Savings by ferry vs. car–Another Alternative to Capacity Issues on I-
95, 395 and Route 1• Evacuation for unified emergency / disaster
