PowerPoint Presentation
dinosaursIdeas and Resources for a Technology-based Unit for the 3rd GradeBy Nicole Bonomo
Technology integration rationaleUnfortunately, none of us will be able to witness a dinosaur or see a live video of one. On the other hand, because we are in the age of technology students can witness life like animations of the creatures allowing them to further understand their knowledge of dinosaurs. Technology can be used as a tool to bring to life the unknown characteristics of dinosaurs to students. Dinosaurs are a fun topic for students to explore and their fossils create the connection between the past and the present.

Carnegie Museum of Natural History
Since dinosaurs are extinct the agencies I would use for this topic are in relation to the preservation of fossils and museums on Dinosaurs.
The American Museum of Natural History has one of the greatest dinosaur fossil collections in the world. The famous exhibits can be watched on self guided internet tours which can be viewed on Google Play or downloaded on the Apple App Store.
2. The Dinosaur State park is a great organization that tracks dinosaur sites in North America. Located in Connecticut, you can view a display of early Jurassic fossil tracks that were made 200 million years ago.
3. The Carnegie Museum of Natural History exhibits are made of 75% real fossils from the finest dinosaur collections of the world. The website gives insight of each exhibit along with pictures. 8

When I hand out this worksheet I would explain to my students that paleontologists use footprints to learn what the dinosaurs looked like and how they behaved. I would explain that each dinosaur has a different foot print and that they need to write down on the worksheet next to each foot print what the image reveals about the dinosaur and what are the differences between them. 12
