Students observe and describe today’s weather

Discuss appropriate clothing worn in different kinds of weather.

We will got through a bag of clothes (bathing suits, mittens, shorts, winter coat, etc. and categorize what we wear in each season.

Students use their senses to observe weather

Students discuss and record data about observable weather features

Students brainstorm questions they have about weather

Students read about and discuss how meteorologists study the weather

Class will go outside and chart observations made by their four senses.

Students observe and discuss thermometers as told that measure temperature.

Students read number on thermometer scale.

Students relate the number to be hot or cold.
