Key Goals ActivitiesIncreasing Science/Math teacher content knowledge

Workshop topics will include content specific information related to STEM

Promoting Teaching Skills Topics will be offered to increase use of technology in the classroom

Developing curricula or aligning to state standards

Participants will be required to develop leveled lesson plans along with a peer teacher.

Peer mentoring by teachers Elementary and Secondary teachers will be paired with one another to develop lesson plans

Exposure to STEM Professionals Professionals from Career Tech and Higher Ed will be available to present at the conference

K-8 Science/Math Expertise Building

STEM Topics will be offered to increase rigor in grades K-8

•63% of Administrators state that teachers in their building seldom or never collaborate with teachers at other grade levels.

•91% say that teachers in their building seldom or never collaborate with Higher Ed regarding classroom instruction.

•82% would like to see more Professional Development opportunities offered for teachers in Math and Science

•100% of administrators polled said that Professional Development would have a positive impact on teacher effectiveness and student achievement.
