Best Rapper Alive Tournament

On July 21st 2008 Vibe launched the ‘Best Rapper Alive’ tournament. They did it by having four brackets (: Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Eminem, and Andre 3000) and they battled till there was two standing then the viewers voted for their winner (Eminem)

When he won he said:

"It's obviously an honor to have won the fans' support by being voted the Best Rapper Alive. I don't think that there is any one rapper that is simply the best though. Everyone who was in consideration and many others are the best at certain things, and at what they do. But since VIBE's offering the distinction, hell yeah I'll accept!"

By Vibe pairing up with the artists and by Eminem saying this it gave VIBE a lot of publicity as the fans of Eminem would hear about the magazine and hopefully buy a copy in the future as it givves the impression that their idol reads and knows about the magazine so they should read it too.
