The Process of Photosynthesis
EDET 620
BAD Presentation Sample
SOL 4.4The student will investigate and understand basic plantanatomy and life processes. Key concepts include• a) the structures of typical plants and the function of each
structure;• b) processes and structures involved with plant reproduction;• c) photosynthesis; and• d) adaptations allow plants to satisfy life needs and respond to
the environment.• Explain the process of photosynthesis using the following words -sunlight -chlorophyll -water -carbon dioxide -oxygen -sugar
Leaves Absorb Sunlight
• The leaves of a plant take in sunlight which is one of the elements need before photosynthesis can occur.
• Sunlight is then used to make sugar which comes in the form of food a plant makes.
Where Sunlight is Stored
• The sunlight is absorbed into the leaves.
• The chlorophyll inside the plant cell is where sunlight is stored.
Plant takes in CO2
• After absorbing the sunlight the plant also takes in Carbon Dioxide from the air.
• After this the plant is ready to start creating the products of Photosynthesis.
Products of Photosynthesis
• The plant makes oxygen and sugar from the sunlight and Carbon Dioxide that has been taken in.
