BACKGROUNDS & SPECIAL EFFECTS

RESEARCH

ELLIE GOULDING - LIGHTSThe music video begins with colourful bokah lights flashing on the screen. I like this effect and this is something we could do at the begging or at some point of our music video.

I also researched a lighting tutorial on how to create bokeh, so we could try it our ourselves.

More into the video we see an effet of the lighting coming from the floor, this also looks very interesting.

SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA - DON'T YOU WORRY CHILD

In this video an effect of a broken camera has been added, on the screen we can see some noise and lines/grains flashing throughout the video, we could add something like this to our video in the after effects stage. I think it would look quite effective, but no throughout the whole of the video – just in some parts.

I have done some research on how to achieve effect like this in the Final Cut – programme which we are going to use for editting our music video.

LITTLE MIX – WINGS & HOW YA DOIN’

In the ’Wings’ video we can see that the screen has been split into four parts, each part for every band member. This is a great idea, however we would have to split our screen into three parts because our band has three members.

In ’How Ya Doin’ video they did something similar but they had split the screen horizontally. I think this way would be a better choice for us because it’s better to split the screen in three horizontally than vertically. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hT_HWIIKbG8&list=PL-

DEMI LOVATO – NEON LIGHTS

In this video I like the upside down reflections and other special effects that have been created. It makes the whole video far more interesting and unique. We could try doing something similar.
